After my 30th Anniversary personal PlayStation history bit and absolutely atrocious blocky Burnout Revenge part (YouTube really doesn’t like SD-type non HD video content) we time travel back to 2020 when the Sony PlayStation was a mere quarter century old and I celebrate that by sharing gameplay of some of my favourite PlayStation 1 titles.

After that sequence we hang back in 2020 when I showed a little 20th Anniversary PS2 softmodding. FreeMcBoot is something you really want to try out for the PS2. With OpenPS2Loader it is possible to also load games and applications from USB, Memory card, Ethernet SMB share. Saves wear and tear on the old optical drives.
After making this video I thought about using a PS2Slim later down the line and figured it would be best to go for SAMBA/Ethernet share network enabled loading of games. And I must say I find the loading from games of a NAS Samba share the most convenient; it is possible to have art displayed, game information displayed. PS2 AND PS1 games are supported this way. Things have come a long way.

Then we head further back into Anniverary giddiness when I unbox one of my Net Yaroze systems – since making the video in 2015 I got 1 more and in 2020 I sold one of mine to a friend/trader.

I might do a follow up encore on the Sony Handheld / Mobile Units I own and enjoy if there’s any interest.
