The Story & Making Of CRYSTAL KINGDOM DIZZY! 🥚🥊 With Interviews! + AMSTRAD CPC Longplay & Review! 🕹️

For the 7th Dizzy adventure it was a big turning point for Codemasters as they decided they wanted to try and ‘grow up’, become a full price publisher, change their logo, even butch up Dizzy by putting a tattoo on his arm! (Much to the horror of the Oliver Twins as I find out in this video!) I thought there was an interesting story to tell here so I decided to look into this, and do a deep dive and research.

Luckily I was able to get interviews with 3 key developers behind the “Crystal Kingdom Dizzy” project – design consultant Philip Oliver of the Oliver Twins, originator of the Dizzy franchise! Dave Thompson the coder of the Amstrad and ZX Spectrum versions, and Jarrod Bentley the graphics artist of all 3 8-bit versions! Of course if you know me and my channel, no video of mine won’t be complete without a full longplay of the Amstrad CPC version which is here with a full guided tour and commentary plus usual insight! And of course we have comparison footage for ALL the other versions too. There’s also a ‘mini’ guest star for this video too… eggcellent! (Don’t worry there’s only a couple of egg puns in the video!)
