Mark Plays… Fire Shark (Genesis) and its Prequel with a couple of Bonus Games (GameClub 52)

#Gameclub52 #misterfpga #gameplay #52GameChallenge

Game: Fire Shark (Genesis)
Developer: Toaplan
Platforms: Arcade, Genesis
Series: Shark
Published: 1989-1990

It’s the sequel to Fire Shark, a game released in 1987 on multiple platforms.

It’s a very tough game, and I am still getting the hang of it. Several YouTubers
have made a gameplay video in a series called GameClub 52 where each player tries to play and complete the games from a set of 52 games selected from a whole range of genres and platforms one game per week for a whole year.

Some of the challens participating in Game Club 52 :

I don’t think my gameplay is good enough nor do I have the persistence to achieve finishing one game a week for a year to warrant an official participation. The concept is rather nice though.

I played the first game “Flying Shark” a lot on quite a few other platforms but my gameplay is not very good either.

Hardware:
In this video I use the Elgato HD60S external USB capture device and
a MiSTer FPGA system that electronically recreates the circuitry of the various consoles and computers inside of a FPGA chip (Field Programmable Gate Array) – creating a near if not identical
re-creation of that hardware

Enjoy this bodged gameplay and some other shmups I happend to start playing in this here clip.
