Antarctic Adventure & Avenger are two games I played a lot on the MSX back in the day. They’re very typical MSX type games I’d say. Good examples of some pretty good games. You will get a bit of a Colecovision as well as a ZX Spectrum vibe from both games. But they’re decent fast ports and not lazy ports that the MSX often is accused of having (much like the Amstrad CPC machines).
Game no1: Antarctic Adventure (けっきょく南極大冒険, Kekkyoku Nankyoku Daibōken, After all, Antarctic Great Adventure) is a video game developed by Konami in 1983 for the MSX, and later for video game consoles, such as NES, Gameboy and ColecoVision.
The gameplay is similar to Sega’s Turbo, but plays at a much slower pace, and features platform game elements.
Game no2: Way of the Tiger II: Avenger is a video game made by Gremlin Graphics in 1986, for the computers Commodore 64, Amstrad CPC, ZX Spectrum and MSX.
The game is viewed from above and superficially resembles Gauntlet.
