Hydro Thunder & Hydro Thunder Hurricane (Xbox360)
Developed by Midway & Eurocom in 1999-2001 and published by Midway Games. This game has been ported to many different platforms including Arcade, Dreamcast, PSone, Nintendo 64 and Windows.
It is part of a series of Midway’s Thunder series of racing games:

The game is a river/lake based racing game in the vain of Sega’s Daytona USA albeit with high speed powerboats instead of cars. The setting is kind of post-apocalyptic and the tracks are very dangerous. You can only
win if you collect blue and red boost icons with the red ones providing the most. There are various difficulty levels selectable with the vaious boats and tacks to choose from.
The xbox 360 version was developed in 2010 and is quite different from the other Hydro Thunder releases.
The Dreamcast port was a favourite among reviewers with the N64 and PSone versions receiving less favourable reviews back in the day. The Dreamcast version supposedly is closer to the Arcade version with the most detailed graphics.
Despite the N64 and PSOne version looking pretty much identical the PSOne version features an extra career mode.
A budget Windows9x port was released for Windows PC in Europe. Plans to release the game to the PS2 was initially cancelled but the PS2, Gamecube and original Xbox each received a port of the Hydro Thunder game as part of the Midway Arcade Treasures 3. These games were based off the Dreamcast port.

‼️The SD video has been upscaled to 4K so that YouTube kicks the proper encoder, otherwise this would be an even more pixellated mess. YouTube isn’t kind to SD quality retro gaming video these days. Even 1080p video gets messy easily….
