Mark Plays… Road Rash (1994)(DOS-Windows98) – My 🔝Top Racing Games🔝

#Roadrash #Racing #gameplay 🏁🏎️🚗🚙🚕🚓🚔

Road Rash is a racing game published by EA. Instead of cars you ride motorcycles and do so in a very violent illegal fashion taking part in street races. The title indicates the skin condition induced by friction between the skin and road surface at high speeds. In total there are 8 different Road Race games released between 1991 and 2009.

1️⃣Road Rash (1991) – Sega Genesis / Megadrive taking place in California on two lane roads with 14 opponents. Amiga, Master System, GameGear, Gameboy and Gameboy colour versions were released as well

2️⃣Road Rash II (1992) – Sega Genesis, looking very similar to the original release. Street races taking place all over the USA from Alaska to Hawaii and features 15 opponents. Two player mode splitscreen, nitro boost and a chain weapon was introduced.

▶️3️⃣Road Rash (1994) (the game featured in this video) – CD-ROM for 3DO, SegaCD, PlayStation, Sega Saturn and Windows. Featuring enhanced character mode selection with different vehicles and weapons. Economics, reputation and gossip systems enhanced the game and create a bit of story by all the things that occurred. The CD-ROM format of course wouldn’t be complete with full motion video sequences. This game returns to a California centered setting.

4️⃣Road Rash 3 (1995) – Again for Sega Genesis/Megadrive with races all over the world featuring Brazil, Germany, Italy, Kenya, Japan, Australia and the UK. More extensive weapon selection and weapon management systems are in place.

5️⃣Road Rash 3D (1998) – PlayStation using polygons. Tracks are interconnected road systems piecemealed together from all different parts of the world. The Combat plays a lesser roll and the game focuses more on actual racing instead.

6️⃣Road Rash 64 (1999) – Nintendo 64 without any involvement of EA which was the publisher for the other versions. THQ with Pacfic Coast Power & Light developed the game.

7️⃣Road Rash Jailbreak (2000) – PlayStation, Gameboy Advance (2003). Added wire side-car, two player cooperative mode and interconnected road systems.

8️⃣Road Rash (2009) – Was a mobile J2ME videogame that could only be obtained through EA’s own mobile website.

In this video I play road-rash again for the first time in almost 20 years. Be amazed by the finesse, the greatness and subtle prowess in my gameplay – err. NOT.
