Mark Plays… Race (Videopac) And Pitstop, Pole Position, Buggy Boy (C64) – My 🔝Top Racing Games🔝

The following games belong to My 🔝Top Racing Games🔝list
1️⃣Race on Videopac
was the first computer racing game I ever played. It looks rudimentary now but it was quite something compared to Pong back in the day. It still holds a special place in my heart.

2️⃣Pitstop on the C64
was a game I played with my brother a lot when we were kids. This and Pitstop II were our goto-racing games back then.

3️⃣Pole Position on the C64
had a nicer 3D view of the road, mountains in the background and amazing exploding cards. Controls weren’t the easiest.

4️⃣Buggy Boy on the C64
was an experience that could get me into the zone. What it did right was the sense of speed, the sense of control and the smoothness of the animations. I never thought the developers would have been able to pull of what they did when they ported the Arcade game to the humble 8-bit machine. On 16-bit machines like the Atari-ST and Amiga the game looked great and the C64 version compares well I think.
