C64 demos are amazing pieces of software that deserve to be watched on a real C64. Thing is such an old computer isn’t always available and as the demo scene is predominantly PAL you really need a PAL capable unit in order for things to work properly. And despite millions of these systems still in existence you can easily find yourself in a position where you don’t have access to a real machine despite some serious C64-demo craving. What is a person to do โ“

Here is where emulators come in handy, you can set PAL/NTSC models, SID and VIC models easily. You do need to use a cycle exact version so all the weird nitpicky interrupt things are handled like they would be on a real C64. โœ…

๐Ÿ“€ DEUS-EX Machina by Crest, Oxyron from 1999 is an amazing demo and stems from a time when C64 #emulation wasn’t as advanced as it is today. The demo even claims emulators suck and compliments the viewer if they are watching the demo on a real C64๐Ÿ˜.
But I’d say it’s very viewable and does a lot of things right! The dancing coca-cola can after the disk flip in the second part is iconic!

Enjoy, despite it being emulated! ๐Ÿ˜Ž For some it’s the only option!
