MacMame 0.28 was an early version of Mame capable of running on the older 68k Macs running MacOS 7.x/8.x – it was much more limited than the versions that ran on MacOS 9.x or OSX on the PPC Macs and also supported less games than the MS-DOS/Linux counterparts.
Still it was quite amazing to see actual polished arcade games running on the old classic 68k Macs back in the day old LCIII and Quadra machines. The closest thing you’d come to an arcade game often was a far less polished shareware or homebrew title.
In this clip I show off a few classic games running on MacMame 0.28 mind you with these early Mame versions often sound was lacking from the games, sound or colours could be incorrect. Mame has been around for such a long time. An invaluable tool to enjoy and preserve classic Arcade games.
