[4K Version] Playstation 2 Games At 1080p With PCSX2 – Sega Rally 2006 (60fps) – less artifacting

Test to see if YouTube mangles this footage that was originally 1080p as bad in 4K upscale as the original 1080p was. When you use Mozilla it’s possible to access the 4K stream even if your display doesn’t support it. It downsamples to 1080p then – but it’s better quality than YouTube’s 1080p to 1080p re-encoding shenanigans with retro console-footage.

Using emulation to enhance the gaming experience, 480p Widescreen to 1080p Widescreen 🙂
Sega Rally 2006, never got a release outside of Japan. I very nice implementation of Sega Rally that already is more polished than the previous outing on the Dreamcast. It’s obvious this is much closer to the Sega Rally we find on PC and PS3. In this video the Arcade heats. See if I can finish the race. Oh the time where 50 or 60fps gaming was the norm.
Captured with OBS 60fps at 1080p max filesize
CPU: Ryzen 3700X
GPU: RTX3060Ti
RAM: 16Gb DDR4
Windows 10-64 bit
PCSX2 v1.7.0-dev-672-g8e191dabb 32bit D3D, balanced, widescreen
Edit: YouTube really did a number on the quality of this video-file, it’s 1080p but it looks like 360p very grainy and definitely something funky happened here. Anyways. PS2 games can look stellar at 1080p or 4K.
