Longplay and review for “The Abduction Of Oscar Z” on the Amstrad CPC 464!

Every year the CPCRetroDev game creation contest is held, and Amstrad fans across the globe eagerly await the fresh batch of new games. The rules are – it must run on a stock CPC 464, from cassette, in 64k of memory (no expansions) and it cannot be a ‘multi-load’. This does limit somewhat developers can do. So when Dreamin’ Bits came in this year and stormed the contest winning 1st place with Abduction – jaws hit the floor. A game this gorgeous looking and sounding, with full screen smooth scrolling at what looks like 50fps, including the wonderfully animated sprites – just shouldn’t …. couldn’t be possible!!! BUT IT IS!! Not only that, but it’s original, fresh, plays and controls fantastically, and is an utter joy and blast to play!

Could this be game of the year??! Let’s find out…
