Sydney Hunter and the Caverns of Death (NES) Development Update 25th October 2020
Electric Adventures
Another update for my development of Sydney Hunter and the Caverns of Death for the Nintendo Entertainment System.
The NES can play limited samples, and the excellent music from Ben Allen, contained some but they refused to work in the previous build.
The issue was the size of the samples and the space in the fixed ROM bank (where the samples have to live), so with a little bit of tweaking of the samples by Ben, to reduce their size and using the newer Famitone music engine, which also uses less space in the same bank, it is now working correctly.
I added an options screen that allows you to sample the tunes that are built into the game.
Another update soon.
