Sydney Hunter and the Caverns of Death (NES) Development Update October 2020
Electric Adventures
After a bit of a break I am back working on Sydney Hunter and the Caverns of Death. Development had stalled with a game breaking bug when trying to update the screen and showing the lava slowly rising while on a screen.
The NES is not very good at doing updates to a large number of tiles. The only time you can do it is during the vBlank and you can only do a small number of tiles each time, so updating the lava requires breaking the update over a number of frames.
All fixed now though, so I can move on to completing the game.
All ten levels have been entered, but I need to populate them all with the enemies, code the puzzles and of course correct a few bugs.
There is a known bug with the samples used in the music, a few sprite pattern issues, and animation sequences.
As I have my other titles and book mostly out of the way I will be focusing on this game until it has been completed.
