[AMSTRAD GX4000] Dick Tracy – Longplay & Review

Longplay and review for “Dick Tracy” on the Amstrad GX4000 / Plus computers!

This month (September 2020) we’re celebrating 30 years of Amstrad’s GX4000 console! (And of course the 464 Plus & 6128 Plus computers!)
So it’s time to take a look at one of the few cartridge games released. First up is Dick Tracy – which I have longplayed before on the channel (but it was in 480p and no review) and a few weeks ago we looked at the Amstrad CPC tape/disk version.

Here, this GX4000 version actually uses most of it’s new expanded features such as hardware scrolling, hardware sprites and utilises well the 4096 colour palette! However, is it really any better for it? Once more and for one final time let’s put on that famous yellow trench coat and fedora, strap on the 2 way radio wristwatch and … I’m on my way!
