About a year ago I made a video showing 5 great gameboy home-brew games, since then i’ve literally played hundreds more on my overdrive and decided now was a good time to make a follow up video, i’m completely blown away by the amount of amazing games being made for the system since I made the last video.

Exclusive look at the upcoming game. Devs have given me a playable version of the game with three different environments to explore, as well as some dev notes.
The game looks to be shaping up to be one of the best platforms on the system! I will definitely do a full review of the game when it gets released sometime next year, so I hope you all look forward to seeing that! in the meantime you can follow the developers on twitter at @coriagameboy
Escape 2042 – The Truth Defenders

In this game you play as a computer engineer and a member of a group called the truth defenders who has been captured by the government and locked up in a secret facility. You have to navigate the rooms and deactivate the traps while avoiding the guards and security cameras.

Another game that the developers have very kindly gave me a full playable version of the game! This one is actually getting a physical release soon thanks to First press games.
This one was made in the fantastic Gameboy Studio, which is kind of like RPG maker for the gameboy. Much like RPG maker, there’s been flood of average games made in it, but there’s definitely a few standout sites made in it that i’ve found so far, and one of the best ones is Wishing Sarah. An atmospheric adventure game where you explore a dreamlike world and meet some weird and wonderful characters and solve some pretty unique puzzles.

Jetpak DX,
being made by my friend Quang at Asobitech. I’ve been watching him program the game live on twitch., I played a demo a while ago and thought it was great so once he’s finished adding the new updated it will be even better, and I know he’s also planning a [physical release so keep an ye out for that coming soon too!
Dragonborne,
which looks to be shaping up to be a great RPG game for the system! Again i’ll be doing a full review of this the it turns up!
