‘Reality’ Television presents The Animated Life of Nob T. Mouse

I produced an animated spoof television channel for my final GCSE Art and Design project, back in 1997. I thought this animation had been lost long ago but I found it on an old disk tonight and decided it needed another airing, here on YouTube.

‘Reality’ Television (‘RTV’ for short) was a website I ran back in 1997-1998, based on this animation. It was designed as a website where users could create online television shows, albeit short animated shows that could easily be transmitted across the low bandwidth of dial-up internet and 56k modems. In some ways it was like a very poor version of YouTube, with less content and less talent. 🙂

If you think the artwork for this is bad please take the following into consideration: I drew the whole thing using a mouse; I produced the whole thing in 256-colour NeoPaint on a 386SX25 (remember those? I bet some of you weren’t born when those were the in thing); and I was also terrible at art (I got a C, mostly because I went to the trouble of trying my hand at animation when everyone else stuck to painting!)

I hope you enjoy the show as much as I enjoyed finding it after so many years.
