[AMSTRAD CPC] Daley Thompson’s Olympic Challenge – Longplay & Review
Xyphoe
Review and longplay / walkthrough for Daley Thompson’s Olympic Challenge on the Amstrad CPC!
So onto the final game of the Daley Thompson ‘trilogy’ – released to coincide with the 1988 olympics, sadly poor old Daley didn’t do too well this time (after winning gold at the 1980 and 1984 olympics) so that was probably the end of this series of games. It does go out on a sort-of high – with the best looking graphics at least! Although sadly big marks done for a lack of presentation inbetween events and also all events being really really tough joystick wagglers that seem to be a lot harder than previous games. But a great Ocean Software team behind this of James Higgins (programming), Jonathan Dunn (music) and Dawn Drake with Bill Harinson (graphics) – should have been a classic, but like Daley at the ’88 summer olympics – it falls short of the gold medal!
Released with an audio cassette in the package – a tune called “The Challenge” also by Jonathan Dunn – big thanks to Larry for the MP3! I’ve included it on the final event – the 1500m!
I’m sure I’ll have more videos to tie in with 2012 summer olympics soon 🙂
