Review and longplay / walkthrough for “World Of Sports” on the Amstrad GX4000 console! (And also on the Amstrad 464+ and 6128+ machines too!)
Released by Epyx and US Gold, they had a good history of multi-sport based games such as Winter Games, California Games, Summer Games, etc – fast forward to 1990 and the release of Amstrad’s ill-fated console and they had the cheek to release this containing only 4 (YES FOUR!) events for a staggering £24.99 price tag! The events themselves (what little there is) are done really well utilising well the new features of the GX4000 console (increased colour palette, hardware scrolling/sprites, etc) but with really poor presentation around them (text title screens?) and no incentive to do well in the events themselves, leaves this as one of the poorest games on the console – and the one you’ll find most common these days on eBay!
