A-Z Of My MSX Collection – Space Manbow
Electric Adventures
This is the 19th video in my series on the 26 games (A-Z) in my MSX collection that are my favourite or most nostalgic.
I am going to do a video on each one, talking about the game and then doing a short game play.
Each game play will be a one-up game play i.e. little or no practice before the video and I will see how far I can get.
So for the 19th video and of course game starting with the letter ‘S’ , I had quite a few games that I really like to choose from. One very close to being picked game I will do a separate play video on sometime soon, as it deserves to be shown.
But in the end there could only be one, and Space Manbow won out. I have actually had this one for quite a while, it was in fact one of the very first complete MSX games I picked up when I started collecting again. When I first got it I could only play it on my MSX 2 machine and could not easily capture footage from it. But using my repaired Sony MSX 2+ machine and a different capture setup I am now able to capture it properly and show it in it’s full glory.
Space Manbow will play on a MSX 2 machine, but it uses software horizontal scrolling so suffers a little bit more slow down and jitter compared with running it on a MSX 2+ machine. It is also very interesting in that this Konami shooter was not released for any other platform.
