Walkthrough / longplay for “ORION PRIME” on the Amstrad CPC!

It’s about damn time I got around to doing this game!! One of the best games EVER on the Amstrad, and only released a few years ago!!

In Part 1 we won’t be seeing any of the actual gameplay, but looking at the package for the game and the story, but most importantly the amazing intro! In Part 2 we’ll start our adventure aboard the scariest space station ever on the Amstrad!!

Orion Prime is a home brew point-and-click adventure game developed by Targhan of Arkos and Supersly of Les Sucres en Morceaux, and was released by Cargosoft in 2009. The game involves the player docking with the Orion Prime spaceship and exploring it. Initially, the spaceship appears to be abandoned, but the player will soon discover that something very sinister has occurred on board, and he must find a way to escape. The authors have claimed that it is “the best adventure game ever made on the Amstrad CPC”.

Why is this game so special?

“Orion Prime is probably the biggest adventure game ever created on the Amstrad CPC. It contains hundreds of kilobytes of full-screen graphics, entire pages of text that will allow you to become immersed in the heart of the adventure, numerous original pieces of music, but especially a scenario that will appeal to your reasoning, logic, and imagination! To offer some variety, Orion Prime also includes several mini-games, which combine skill, action and thinking. Finally, Orion Prime is an adventure game that uses some of the most advanced programming techniques
for the Amstrad CPC. Digitised music, extremely high quality graphics, music being played while data is being loaded from disc, the fastest disc access routines currently in existence, use of the full storage capacity of a 3.5″ disc to avoid swapping sides repeatedly… In short, everything that a player has the right to
expect from an Arkos production!”
