We’re halfway through the A-Z! Today’s entry, M, features another tough platformer – and this time it’s McDonald’s in the spotlight. We may never quite know how the big M and Treasure managed to get together, but the result is a weirdly classy and top-notch game based around selling burgers.
The honourable mentions section features plenty of Mickey Mouse – there’s Mickey Mousecapade for the NES, the superb Mickey’s Magical Quest for the SNES, and the absolutely brilliant Mickey Mania for the MD – if Mickey hadn’t already been featured then this would have probably been the featured title, but it’ll probably be the subject of a full review soon enough. There’s plenty more famous games too – Michael Jackson makes an appearance with Moonwalker on the Mega Drive, there’s the rock-solid Michael Jordan: Chaos in the Windy City for the SNES, some Marvel vs. Capcom action, and finally Monty Python’s Flying Circus for the C64 – so yes, the honourable mentions are pretty freaking stacked.
And finally, the British Television love-in in the shit room reaches overdrive, as we encounter one of the oddest tie-ins ever made – a game about a ridiculously stupid man in a big fat costume who appeared on a ridiculously stupid show hosted by Noel Edmonds, the Prince of Darkness. It’s Mr. Blobby for the Amiga! Enjoy the video.
