NZXT Kraken X72 On Ryzen7 2700x Revisited & Sega Rally PC (Hidden Gem)

In this video I revisit the NZXT Kraken X72, I ended up re-installing it into the system after getting a ton of comments, hints and tips on my previous video where I had quite bad results installing a closed water cooling solution for the first time ever.

Hardware:
GPU: ASUS ROG STRIX GTX 1070 Gaming 8Gb DDR-5
Mobo: Gigabyte X470 AORUS GAMING 7 WIFI-CF (AM4)
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 2700X Eight-Core Processor
RAM: 16Gb Corsair DDR4 running at 3200Mhz
SSD: Intel 512 Gb SSD SSDSC2KW512G8
HD: 4Tb TOSHIBA MD04ACA400
HD: 4Tb ST4000DM004-2CV104
HD: 450Gb HGST HTS545050A7E380

So I did it again, and this time it seems to work a lot better. What did I do differently?
1. I used a higher quality thermal paste
2. Made sure the pump was tight on the CPU using the exact backets for the CPU/Socket combo (AM4 with Ryzen 7 2700x)
3. Insured there was an even better airflow in the case. I removed the internal optical drive (which I hardly use). So the fans on the radiator (3 fans) are not obstructed any more than they have to.
4. Installed the CAM software that comes with the Kraken NZXT X72 allowing me to control fan speed, RGB on the pump and monitor the PC properly.

So I must say that even in this Sharkoon case the NZXT Kraken X72 does a great job in keeping the CPU cool. It’s less noisy and temperatures don’t jump up and down like is the case with the air cooler. CPU boosting seems to work fine this time around.

It’s a winner.

Oh and for the game, Sega Rally really is a hidden gem on PC and XBox360. It has aged well. I would love to see a newer version of Sega Rally appear on PC but alas, it seems Sega is concentrating on other things these days.
