Aqua GT is a river based powerboat racing game developed by East Point Software for the Dreamcast in 2000 and a year later for the PlayStation. It was published by Take-Two Interactive. A PC version was
in the works but never got released. A preview appeared in PC Zone magazine.

The game features 20 boats that the player gets to race through various waterways in European cities including London, Paris and Amsterdam. The game features various difficulty settings which are created through night/daytime and high-low tide modes.

There are 3 racing modes: Arcade, Championship and two-player split-screen mode.

Reception:
Playstation version (2001)
The Daily Telegraph: 4/5 – surprisingly addictive, mindless but action packed, great coarses, sensible learning curve, seriously swift and responsive water-borne machines

Dreamcast version:
Official Dreamcast Magazine: 3/10 – very repetitive, no replay value, crash dame, open water courses and decent graphics should have been included. A co-reviewer found the game challenging enough, grippingly compulsive and good fun, but unrealistic ater and movements of the boats upon it.

I’d say I agree that the PlayStation version actually is the better version. Just because it looks more cohesive and the Dreamcast could have been capable of much more than what is on offer here.

My Scores
Playstation:
Graphics: 8/10
Gameplay: 7/10

Dreamcast:
Graphics: 6/10
Gameplay: 7/10

โ€ผ๏ธThe SD video has been upscaled to 4K so that YouTube kicks the proper encoder, otherwise this would be an even more pixellated mess. YouTube isnโ€™t kind to SD quality retro gaming video these days. Even 1080p video gets messy easilyโ€ฆ.
