OCA World Touring Cars is a racing game developed by Codemasters in 2000. It is part of the extensive multi platform spanning TOCA series with this being the 3rd game. So one could call it TOCA 3.

Despite it being called TOCA it sadly didn’t feature the fully licensed British Touring Car Championship. This caused some upset – but the series remained quite successful. Albeit more of an Arcade Simulation.

So random grid placement without qualifications and no penalties for bad driving or getting off the track. Still this does make the game quite a fair bit more accessible to the not so initiated in TOCA.

The game sold very well in the UK as well as Japan where it was named WTC: World Touring Car Championship
(WTC ワールド・ツーγƒͺングカー・チャンピγ‚ͺンシップ,
WTC Wārudo Tsūringukā Chanpionshippu)

Metacritic: 80/100
CNET Gamecenter: 7/10
Edge: 8/10
GameSpot: 8.9/10
IGN: 8.3/10
PayStation OMG UK: 10/10

‼️The SD video has been upscaled to 4K so that YouTube kicks the proper encoder, otherwise this would be an even more pixellated mess. YouTube isn’t kind to SD quality retro gaming video these days. Even 1080p video gets messy easily….
