Mark Plays… SEGA RALLY CHAMPIONSHIP on the Gameboy Advance
Released on 02-05-2003
Sega did release quite a fair few of their most famous games on the small Nintendo handheld console. Games like Sonic the Hedgehog, Chu Chu Rocket, Super Monkeyball to name a few.
It was great being able to play those Sega classics on the go with a console that ran off two AA batteries.
The game contains much more variation than the championship race I show in this video. There’s a max 3 player multiplayer mode with aid of the GAME-LINK cable that is worth checking out and great fun.
Of course the graphics leave a lot to be desired by today’s standards and they are possibly not even tolerable anymore. With the rally car consisting
of a non polygonal sprite and the background of very coarse chunky
textures. Back in the day I played this a lot and it seems I still have the moves 🙂
A more digestible portable Sega Rally title would be the game on the Sony PSP console. I might show that in another video.
Enjoy the gameplay – just think of Legos moving about the screen. 🙂
