MacOS 7.5.5 and also 8.1 actually runs quite well on the MiSTer (FPGA Multi System) by using Shapeshifter on the MiniMIG core.
Shapeshifter on MacOS doesn’t rely on CPU emulation as that actually is using the Amiga’s own CPU so there is far less “Emulation overhead”. Other aspects of the 68k Mac are emulated by the Amiga – but that isn’t a a problem for its dedicated chips.
