Super Mario Series Review / Memories (Main Console Games)
Today I wanted to celebrate Mario’s 35th Anniversary by taking a look back a series that means so much to me! I will only be looking at what I consider the “Main” console games, else this video could easily go on for several hours! Let me know some of your favourite, and least favourite games in the series! Hopefully we’ll see some Switch remakes of the Mario games soon! Let me know in the comments which games you’d love to see get a remake on the Switch!

Super Mario Bros.
The game that started it all, and also possibly the first game I ever played, my mum and dad got It when I was just 2 years old, when the NES was on sale after the SNES had come out in the UK.

Although I don’t actually have many memories of playing the game back then, I was about 2 or 3 years old after all, I do remember the feelings the game gave me, a mix of elation and frustration in equal measures, anyone that’s played the original Mario before knows that it can become very difficult later on, especially if you don’t use the shortcuts. I remember getting so frustrated, but determined to get further and further each time! It wasn’t until my Dad figured out that you can run across the top of the screen in the second stage to skip out the first three world that I really started to enjoy the game.
That’s where the genius of Mario 1 comes in. It’s so fast to pickup and play, and to get all the way to world 8 can just take a few minutes if you want it to, but you can also choose to play through the full game and experience all the amazing levels. It’s completely up to you, and thanks to the amazing controls and physics, it’s always fun to come back to!
A true masterpiece and still one of the best games in the entire series, despite it’s age.
We actually also had Mario 2 and 3 at the same time, so for me, these three games were experienced without any gap in their release dates. And it just goes to show how good all three of these classic NES titles are.
