In this video I have a go at checking out some of the on tthat come with the Next distro as well as try out some of the files I put on there myself.
I kick myself in the head that I didn’t support the ZX Next / Spectrum Next kickstarted so all I can do is wait for the 2nd Kickstarter to go live and jump on board – Accelerated version for sure! Or buy one at crazy inflated prices 2nd hand or make do with an emulator. In the last video I tried the very excellent ZEsurEX 8.1 Multi Spectrum/Amstrad demo and in this video I check out the CSpect Emulator which needs a little command line tinkering to coax it into functioning as a NEXT/ZX Spectrum or other machine
1. Download the latest SD card from ZXNext OS release from https://www.specnext.com/category/downloads/
Copy onto an SD card (preferably 2GB and less than 16GB ) (FAT32 formatted).
2. Copy the files “enNextZX.rom” and “enNxtmmc.rom” from this SD Card into the root of the CSpect emulator folder
3. Download Win32DiskImager (https://sourceforge.net/projects/win32diskimager/ )
make an image of the SD card start CSpect with the command line with that image you created – after you put some extra files on it?
