[AMSTRAD CPC] Total Eclipse II : The Sphinx Jinx – Longplay & Review
Xyphoe
Longplay and review for “TOTAL ECLIPSE II – THE SPHINX JINX” on the Amstrad CPC!
A few weeks ago we finally saved the world in the longplay of the 1st game (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uzcHahTSuCQ), now we return back to the pyramids to lift the Sphinx Jinx curse in the sequel!
This 2nd game was bundled free with later copies of the original game, and then appeared as a free game on the Amstrad Action magazine covertape!
As before In Total Eclipse we’re exploring a fully 3D world inside an ancient Egyptian pyramid – this 1st person perspective game is built on the “Freescape” engine arguably the first ever proprietary 3D game engine… and it was all originally developed on an Amstrad CPC 6128!! Let’s just take that in for a minute …. the first ever true 3D game engine was made on the AMSTRAD!! WOW! Yes it may move slowly but this is highly impressive stuff for the time!
Can we defeat the traps, avoid the lasers, solve the puzzles and reconstruct the Sphinx inside the pyramid before a total eclipse occurs? Xyphoe cries OH MUMMY!
