Emulating Windows 98 (D3D, 3Dfx) on PCEM running 3DMark’99 Full Speed On A Windows 10 PC

Running MS-DOS and Windows95/98 games is no fun on a Windows 10 machine but there’s a solution when your old original 90’s PC gaming hardware has died like mine. It’s called PCEm – it does very compatible Pentium MMX, Windows 98, S3Virge, Voodoo2, 3D3, DirectX, 3Dfx emulation but it does need quite a lot of overhead as it does not virtualize your PC hardware to the guest OS but it does in fact emulate a complete 80’s or 90’s PC.

Check out my Pentium 166MMX, Windows 98SE setup running 3DMark’99 Full speed – first Windowed to show the speed during the demo and then again full screen to get a feel of the visual fidelity of the Voodoo2 rendering.

PCEm can easily be found through Google
So can Windows98 or Windows95
