The games I chose for this episode include:
Animal Crossing (Gamecube)
– playing for the first time at Gamestars Live / Seeing screenshots of the N64 version and adverts in magazines
Super Mario Galaxy
– ever since the Mario 128 demo I had been awaiting the next big thing from Mario. Sunshine didn’t really push the series forward that much, even though I thought it was fantastic, so I was extremely excited to see how they would change things up with galaxy. As soon as I saw the first trailer at E3 and heard the amazing new orchestrated music I was blown away and the wait began!
Starfox Adventures
– Watching trailer on dial up internet
– Looking at screenshots on gamecube demo disk on windows 95
– Video from game of upcoming gamecube releases
– I Thought the game was great, also remember it being the first game that I played all night from the top of my bunk bed using the wavebird controller! –
great memories!
Smash Bros Brawl
– seeing weekly updates on the smash dojo, listening to the new music, seeing new stages and characters
– guessing with friends at school which characters would get added to the game
– waiting outside game before it opened to pick the game up
– sad story – wii not recognising the disk, having to send it off to nintendo for 2 weeks to get it fixed..
Twilight Princess
– dreamed about link running through a forest, shown in first trailer
– fist played at an event in 2005
– friend at school tricked me into thinking he’s got a copy of the full game 2 years early!
– really interested in it’s development
– annoyed with the delay thanks to the wii
– ended up being a great game but not entirely what was promised.
