Val Kilmer Back As Iceman for Top Gun: Maverick

Val Kilmer is going to be reprising his role as Iceman in the Top Gun sequel, Top Gun: Maverick. We kinda already knew Val Kilmer might be in Top Gun 2. Kilmer had previously posted on Facebook in 2015 that he was agreeing to a role on Top Gun 2, but then said he had “jumped the gun” in announcing it.

But with Kilmer recently recovered from throat cancer, there had been a lot of speculation as to whether he would have a role in the Top Gun sequel, but looks like its going to happen! It will be interesting to see who all comes back for the sequel and I’d like to know how they plan to use Iceman’s character in the new movie.

Are Maverick and Iceman going to be at odds with each other, or maybe we will see Iceman as Mavericks navigator. That would be an interesting twist. And We still don’t know for sure what the plot of the new movie is going to be, but there are rumors that it will be focusing on a drone plotline. The movie is currently being filmed and is set for release on July 12, 2019.
