MTV Reboots ‘YO! MTV RAPS!’

MTV Reboots their show YO MTV Raps!
MTV is taking another stab at rebooting one of its most popular shows of the 80s with the recent news that YO! MTV Raps is being revived! 30 years after the show first brought hip-hop into the living rooms everywhere, a new generation gets to see what all the hype was about.

Yo! MTV Raps was a two-hour Music Video program, which ran from August 1988 to August 1995,
and was one of the most popular shows on MTV during its run. It did run into a lot of controversy.. mainly stemming from the growing popularity of some non-kid friendly videos, which MTV was careful not to play on air.

Increased censorship and declining popularity ultimately ended the shows life, but hopefully this new revival will be able to bring back some of its former glory. To celebrate, the Yo! MTV Raps: 30th Anniversary Experience will touch down at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on June 1, 2018. Theres no word yet on what time it will premiere, but when I find out, ill let you guys know.
