The Arcade Project – Sega Galaxian Cocktail (Part 1)

Since I have been very lucky to receive quite a few arcade related items lately I thought I would restart doing regular vlog updates on various arcade restoration and build projects.
For this video we start a new project, I got a call from a local friend during the week and he had noticed that the local tip shop had a arcade cocktail cabinet for sale, not working, although an image was being displayed on the screen.
Even better they only wanted $110 for it and he said it was a Galaxian, one of my classic favourites. So after a bit of chasing through traffic after work I manage to get the game and get it home to the game room.
It ended up being quite an uncommon cocktail cabinet, made by Sega. Sega produced their own Galaxian base board under license (some with minor modifications) and released a number of games, such as Moon Cresta, Frogger, Jump Bug, Super Cobra and Turpin.
But they also released copies of Galaxian itself, no one knows how many of these were released, but after posting on a local arcade board two other owners of this machine have already contacted me.
So what I am going to try and do is restore this machine back to it’s original state as much as possible as it will make a fine addition to my games room, and the start of my dedicated arcade cabinets.
I will post another video once I have made some progress, and will have separate videos on other games I am working on.
