One area that the Sega Mega Drive needed some help in was RPG’s. Phantasy Star II should that the system could handle a decent role playing experience but companies at the time were just too scared to take on the development challenges in producing a good RPG experience. Then Phantasy Star IV came along and threw expectations out the window with a killer experience on the 16 Bit system!
