Dealing With Negativity In Your YouTube Comments Section

I am not opposed to people leaving comment pointing out an opinion different from my own. It’s often very cool to agree to disagree. No problems there. Leaving feedback in a constructive way can be helpful. Being respectful is something I always do online. Being disrespectful will never get you anything in life but grief and hurt.

This probably very young individual took a different non-constructive route and I did what I usually do when utterly disrespectful stuff like this happens.

I check out their channel – usually no content of their own and/or a history of abuse on YT. Their opinion is of no consequence or value. Their comment is like bad graffiti.
1. I block their channel
2. I delete their comment
3. I forget about their existence

In this case I honored their attempt at communicating with a video! Whoohoo! Mind you the above procedure will only work if there aren’t too many comments on the videos. I just can’t imagine how people deal with this kind of things when it’s thousands and thousands of views and comments. There’s a bonus to being a smaller channel – but being on here requires a bit of a thick skin no matter how big or small your channel is.
