VR on iOS (and Android)(Virtual Reality)(Headset)
Lactobacillus Prime
Today I got a VR-Headset that is compatible with both iOS but also Android Phones. A plastic version of Google Cardboard with some extra’s. I talk about my experiences. Is VR worth the hype?
In his video I talk about my experiences with the Homido head set, the good the bad and he ugly, but also the wonderful.
It’s an early adopters thing for now. It’s not fair to compare something like this to more polished experiences like the Samsung Gear VR which is based on Oculus Rift licenses. The DPI of the supported Samsung phones on the GearVR is higher than the 1080p IPhone 6 Plus screen I was using so the wire mesh effect is greater on the iPhone using the Homido headset.
There’s no magnet like on Google cardboard but I managed to tap the side of the device with my leather iPhone case which has a wee magnet inside strong enough to temporarily confuse the compass and to trigger the select function that is used in many Google cardboard apps that are ported to iOS.
This is not a full review, just me waffling about it.
