Core2Duo Desktop PC with 3D graphics HW running the R3 release of X86 Android
In this video I demonstrate the Android 4.4 R3 Kitkat x86 release on my HP Compac desktop small form factor PC. It’s a follow up to previous videos I did on Android running natively on PC hardware. This shows the latest (Oktober 2015) Android x86 release with excellent 3D hardware support for both Intel, AMD/Radeon as well as Nvidia graphics cards.

The first part on the installation of the system can be found here:

Prerequisites
– Download the latest Android-x86 ISO file see link in description of video
– USB flash drive or a bootable CD/DVD drive
– Ensure there is sufficiently free hard disk space on the computer/laptop on which you want to install Android-x86 OS. Bascially free unpartition space that you can select from the installer. Opt to use the entire partition as user space; this ends up in being able to use the entire partition for storage of programs. In case of this computer a whopping 250Gb!
I either a tool to make a bootable Linux USB stick or burn the ISO to a CD and boot from that. http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/ for example is a tool you can use. Or http://www.pendrivelinux.com/universal-usb-installer-easy-as-1-2-3/
Then boot your computer and follow the instructions like I did in the video ( http://youtu.be/mykKzi9DLZ0 ). (this is on R1 but works the same on R3)
Select ext2 as file format for the drive that seems to work best and easiest. Do opt to use the Grub loader – it will even make your system multi boot if there’s a partition with Windows on it. But installing a OS next to an existing OS does risk you loosing your data or the ability to boot into windows so that’s something you should take into account.
