[PC] Ed Hunter – Longplay & Review (Iron Maiden official computer game)

Longplay, walkthrough / playthrough and review for “Ed Hunter” the official Iron Maiden PC CD-ROM game released in 1999!

*** PLEASE NOTE ***
Sorry Iron Maiden fans… you won’t hear any Iron Maiden music in this video due to YouTube copyright, so music has been near enough muted 🙁 I did mention in the video you might be able to hear it very quietly but after listening back to the recording you can’t hear anything at all! 🙁

So in 1999 an on-rails light gun shoot ’em up game was released based on the Iron Maiden mascot ‘Eddie’ that appears on all their album covers, singles, tshirts, live shows, etc! You play as ‘Ed Hunter’, a private eye tasked with tracking down Eddie, releasing him from a lunatic asylum, then following him through time and space to help him out in a final confrontation with the Four Horsemen Of The Apocalypse!!

This is a seemingly forgotten game (and I couldn’t find any other longplay on YouTube for it!) probably because of how it was released. You got a CD with a best of Iron Maiden compilation, but was this a game with a bonus music CD? Or a music compilation with a game as a bonus? As such the gaming press largely ignored it, and the planned PlayStation version was scrapped. However the band enough faith in it to base an entire tour on the game (the “Ed Hunter Tour”), which was especially significant because it was the reunion tour with Bruce Dickinson and Adrian Smith rejoining the band.

Here is the full game to completion, plus I found each of the ‘hidden’ band member heads on each of the levels that gives you an extra continue in the game. Played on ‘Hard’ difficulty.
