How to Be A Complete Bastard (Spectrum) + Highlander (C64) Review – A-Z of Licensed Games

Today’s licensed game review is for the Spectrum! And it’s…well, it’s different. How to Be A Complete Bastard (based off Ade Edmondson’s book) is pretty self-explanatory – you basically have to do what exactly what it says in the title! It’s a pretty unique game – if you’re a fan of that oh so gloriously alternative 1980’s comedy, this should be right up your street. In any case, it’s an intriguing little curio.

The honourable mentions section features a couple of text adventures! Praise the lord. The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy is one of the funniest games ever made, and also one of the most head-spinning, and the Hobbit may not look like much today, but all that text was insane top-spec shit for 1982, trust me! We also have lots of crazy particle effect goodness in Hokuto no Ken for the PS2, a cracker of a fighting game and one of the few decent games the franchise has ever had, and lastly Hill Street Blues for the Amiga, which holds the distinction of being one of the few games ever made where you get to manage a police force. Isn’t that exciting? Our shit room title today is Highlander, a joyless and naff fighting game for the C64 that I could hardly face playing, let alone talking about. Enjoy the video!
