Never thought I would be able to ever own one of these, but I managed to win an auction for a Sega Mark III console with my opening bid. It was from a different Japanese seller, they actually listed a few of the other models at the same time, which may have distracted a few other bidders.
The Sega Mark III plays all Sega SG-1000 cartridge and card titles as well as all Japanese Master System cartridge and card titles, so it is one of the best units to own if you collect the older titles.
I am not going to re-collect Japanese versions of any Master System titles I have but may look out for any of the Japanese exclusive titles to pad out the collection.
