Play Blackpool 2015 – Walkaround & Interviews (Oliver Twins, Jim Bagley, Jeff Minter & David Rowe)
Xyphoe
I take a walk and look around “Play Blackpool 2015” – the yearly retro gaming event!
Plus I managed to snag chats and interviews with Andrew Oliver (of the famous Oliver Twins – eg Dizzy, SkySaga, etc), Jim Bagley (Midnight Resistance, Cabal, Red Heat, Hudson Hawk, Dragon’s Lair, etc), Jeff Minter (Attack Of The Mutant Camels, Tempest 2000, etc) and David Rowe (the artist responsible for game covers like Populous, Way Of The Exploding Fist, Friday 13th, Tetris, etc and also the designs for the rooms in Knightmare the TV show!).
For those of you that are not familiar with my channel I’m a big Amstrad CPC fan, so I had to ask Andrew and Jim some Amstrad related questions!!
And Jim drops a real exclusive and exciting bit of news for CPC fans!!
So with the assistance of Simon (https://www.youtube.com/user/flibblesan) I take a walkaround all the wonderful arcade machines set to free play, retro and modern consoles and the traders area – inbetween these segments you’ll find the interviews!
Filmed on my GoPro which I sadly discovered doesn’t pick up the screens of the machines and consoles very well (thankfully later in the video is some extra footage of the arcade machines taken by Simon) also apologies if some of the interviews are hard to make out – it was very very noisy in there and annoyingly like in the Jim Bagley interview we kept getting interrupted!!
I wasn’t planning on doing any interviews, but they were all so super nice, friendly and chatty we decided to roll cameras! Jeff Minter was the last I got to speak to at the end of the day, so that one is very brief – he was very tired!
Oh and a bonus clip at the end of me halfway through trying to complete 3 waves on hard difficulty on the Star Wars arcade machine to get the high score!!
