This time I’ve used the supplied 3.5mm splitter that you get with the Astro. I have the headset connected to the mixamp and the mic section fed off to the PC.
I did have to do some sound editing on it due to the increase in gain required as this added some noise. This was sorted out with Audacity.
This just shows how bad a job the mixamp does with the mic. The mic itself isn’t that bad!
With this method I can still edit the volume of the game/audio independently.
Your thoughts on this compared with the first video would be appreciate. Personally, I think this is the way to go if you don’t want to record game chat etc and simply want to do commentaries.
