What’s Your One Childhood Toy You Could Not Live Without?

Taking a look at my oldest toy, a teddy bear my uncle bought before I was even born. So the beasty is older than me. Smelling it – it just smells like it always has provoked quite a powerful emotion and childhood memories of bedtime and my parents kissing me goodnight. Having lost a parent in May this year (my dad) and Pete being his brother – it really stopped me in my tracks for a bit.

The sense of smell is the most powerful trigger imaginable. And I think it is good to hang on to these things that have the smells of yesterday. Not to just dwell on the past. But actually providing a sense of continuation, a stronger sense of the here and now.

Miss you dad.
