[AMSTRAD CPC] Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles – Longplay & Review

Review and longplay / walkthrough / speedrun for “Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles” (or rather “Teenage Mutant NINJA Turtles” in the US!) on the Amstrad CPC!

One of the biggest selling games (if not the #1 – only Robocop runs it close!) ever on the Amstrad CPC – it’s about time I took a look at it! I suppose also this is more of a speed run than longplay (some objects/sewers/buildings I didn’t go for because they weren’t needed to complete the game), it’s really quick and easy to complete!

Despite being from the dream team of David Perry and Nick Bruty (eg Trantor, Savage, Smash TV, etc) this isn’t their ummm… best work. Sure there’s lovely graphics and parallax scrolling! But that doesn’t make a classic game…

One quibble I forgot to mention in the review is the controls specifically with jumping. You push up to jump, but to move the jump/descent to the left or to the right you must get used to releasing the up/jump key – and then press left or right! It’s very frustrating!! If every other platformer allows you to move your jump left or right with those keys whilst holding up – why can’t this?

Anyway… go watch and enjoy!
