Another three days have passed, and so it’s time for another licensed games vid! Today I have a close look at a game that I believe to be an unheralded hidden gem – Die Hard for the NES. Pack-in-Video resisted the temptation to fill the game up with spiders and scorpions (as they had done in the past for their takes on Rambo and Predator) and created a faithful adaptation that’s not really like any other NES game.
Also on the slate today, we’ve got Duck Tales – one of the greatest licensed games ever, but not really one that needs a great deal more praise than it has. Two other Die Hard games also get chucked in – Die Hard Arcade, and Die Hard Trilogy. We get down to some nitty-gritty violence in Def Jam: Fight For NY, as well as saving the earth from the Mekon in Dan Dare: Pilot of the Future. And the shit room title is an extended, arduous 2nd look at Titus’s Dick Tracy, quite possibly the worst licensed game of all-time. Enjoy!
