Our third trip down the licensed game alphabet brings us to Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse, a classic 16-bit platformer – one of the first games that really showed off just what the Mega Drive could do, and one that will soon be seen again in souped-up remake form!
And as ever, there’s a lot of honourable mentions to go through. Cadillacs and Dinosaurs, possibly Capcom’s greatest beat-’em-up, is here – as is Captain America and the Avengers. Outside the arcade, we’ve got a top 8-bit platformer in Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers, Chex Quest – an odd little adgame that was given away with boxes of cereal, and Cobra – a surprisingly decent ZX Spectrum tie-in. Oh yeah, and there’s Chuck Norris. Lastly, the shit room takes us back to late 90’s MTV comedy and the wanton claymation violence of Celebrity Deathmatch. Enjoy the video!
