Review and longplay / walkthrough for “California Games” on the Amstrad CPC!

This is going to be the last of the multi-event sport games I’m going to do for a lonnnnng time! Frankly, I’m sick and tired of them now!! Well I saved an interesting one to last – the famous and very popular California Games! At least on the C64 which was the original and by far the best out of the 8-bit conversions… this is another typical Epyx game on the Amstrad… bare-bones presentation, no real goal except to beat world records – unless you’re playing against friends.

I wouldn’t say this was an ‘expert’ playthrough, but enough to demonstrate everything – such as the important moves on the bizarre ‘foot bag’ event! Overall with the presentation and graphics this conversion doesn’t give the bright and sunny feeling of California at all…
